Abstract

The aim of the thesis is to optimize inventory management in a wholesale company. The subject of the thesis is a comprehensive analysis of the company's inventory and providing recommendations for inventory management in individual areas. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first part contains an introduction of the company and a comparison of selected economic indicators regarding years 2022 and 2023. The second part contains the theoretical background of logistics and inventory management issues, including tools used in practice for inventory analysis. The third part focuses on the practical application of the theoretical knowledge from the second part of the thesis. The practical part includes ABC inventory analysis, XYZ analysis, their matrix, as well as calculation and recommendations for setting the level of Safety stock for selected items. The thesis concludes with an evaluation of the results obtained and recommendations for improving inventory management in the company.
