Abstract

This diploma thesis is focused on the strategic analysis of the company in the engineering industry, which deals with the production of agricultural machinery for soil preparation. The aim of the work is to find and evaluate the factors that affect the analyzed company and based on them to suggest ideas and recommendations to the company for improvement. The strategic analysis of the company is performed by means of analyzes of the external and internal environment and by means of a comprehensive analysis. The PESTE method is used to analyze the external environment of the company. The field environment of the company is analyzed using Porter's model of five competitive forces. Financial analysis and the 7S model are used to analyze the internal environment. The results of analyzes of the company's internal environment are summarized using SAP technology. Subsequently, a comprehensive SWOT analysis is performed, in which the identified strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats are evaluated using points and weights. The analyzes show that the company's strengths and threats predominate. The company's strongest threats are restrictions on exports to Eastern countries in connection with the ongoing war in Ukraine, declining sales due to unpredictable developments in the current situation and rising input prices. Significant strengths are the company's financial situation, technological know-how, low fluctuation of key employees and a long tradition. Weaknesses are the lack of ISO certification, the fact that the company's visions, goals and mission are not formulated, and the insufficient managerial skills of managers. Currently, the biggest opportunity is to enter the Western market. Based on the results of the analyzes, the company is recommended to introduce ISO certification and focus on Western markets, develop managerial skills in executives, build solar panels on the roofs of buildings, formulate visions, goals and mission and share them across the company. Other topics are the hiring of an IT employee and the creation of a corporate intranet and binding email communication.
