Petrografické zhodnocení travertinové kaskády v obci Tichá

Abstract

The goal of this bachelor thesis is a petrographical evaluation of the natural relic Travertine cascade in the village Tichá. The first part is focused on defining the terms such as travertine and tufa, their process of creation and occurrence. Second part includes the characteristic of the target area, environmental conditions and mainly the very characteristic of the travertine cascade. Another chapter is dedicated to the methodology, in which the work with machines used to identify the minerals is described and photographic documentation and also the computer applications that are used. In the final chapter the data from the whitdrawn samples of tufa and water from the spring of the travertine cascade are evaluated.
