Dokumentace a zhodnocení olistostromy v korytě Lubiny v k.ú. Vlčovice

Abstract

The aim of this study was to expand existing knowledge of the sedimentary development, stratigraphy, and provenance of rocks of the Baška Formation in the Outer Western Carpathians, based on outcrops along the Lubina River in Kopřivnice-Vlčovice. Field documentation included detailed mapping, the establishment of three sedimentary profiles, and sampling for subsequent petrographic, micropaleontological, and powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) analyses. Micropaleontological analysis of foraminifera and dinoflagellate cyst assemblages confirmed a middle to late Cretaceous age for the studied rock exposures. A significant finding was the discovery of pebbles of the Teschenite Association rocks, whose provenance was traced to the Teschenite body near the village of Tichá. These findings contribute to refining the stratigraphic classification of the studied layers and to a better understanding of the geological evolution of the Outer Western Carpathians.
