Abstract

This diploma thesis deals with the diagnostics of high-voltage capacitors removed from an impulse generator. The aim of the thesis is to assess their technical condition and suitability for further laboratory use. The theoretical part focuses on the principles of impulse generators, overvoltage phenomena, and basic methods of insulation system diagnostics. It also describes methods for measuring insulation resistance, polarization index, and dissipation factor (tan δ). The practical part is focused on the realization of measurements using Megger DELTA4000 and C.A 6545 devices and the subsequent processing of measured data. It also includes the evaluation of results using the VDF (Voltage Dependence Factor), which allows assessment of the dependence of dielectric losses on voltage. Based on the performed measurements, a mutual comparison of individual capacitors was carried out.
