Abstract
Ensuring safe operation in surface mines requires the application of geotechnical monitoring methods, which will allow creating the most accurate picture of the behavior of the rock environment during the extraction of minerals and the establishment of waste materials. Subsequent evaluation and use of the monitoring results for mathematical modeling of the monitored environment led to the goal of establishing a monitoring methodology and establishing warning states to ensure the safe stability of these slopes. The content of this dissertation is a description of geotechnical monitoring methods, calculation of slope stability using the limit equilibrium method and the creation of a computational 3D model in the PLAXIS 3D software for determining stress-strain ratios, from which the methodology for ensuring slope stability is derived.
