Abstract

Bachelor's thesis describes a quality cast iron used in the automotive industry. It describes the grey cast iron, malleable iron, vermicular graphite cast iron, ductile iron and Austempered Ductile Iron (ADI). The purpose of the paper work is also to focuses on technology and the mechanical properties of cast irons and their use in the automotive industry. It also describes specific examples of practice, mainly in ductile iron and ADI, the casting of the iron can successfully replace the automobile parts that are manufactured as forged or welded steel.
