Abstract

Brake disc (BK), and their ability braking is integral part of the safety equipment of the vehicles. Great influence on their ability to the material, subsequent treatment, design and method of stress, whether mechanical, and thermal. The most common material is gray cast iron (LLG). This work results comparing the behavior of brake disks in dependence on the method of heat treatment. Braking tests were carried out on a special braking state intended for testing of brake discs. Compared with standard BK of LLG, austempered disc of LLG (ADI) and the blade of tempered LLG. All BK compared with the braking ability, the rate of heating, mechanical wear, changes in structure, but also economic considerations.
