Abstract

The financial analysis in an important instrument for financial management of a company that provides evaluation of the financial situation, especially through analysis of financial statements. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to outline the basic issues of the financial analysis, define its users, describe its basic methods and apply this theoretical knowledge to undertaking a proper analysis of a selected company called PARAPETROL a.s. in the application part. The methods used are horizontal and vertical analysis, ratio and difference analysis, Du Pont decomposition and bankruptcy and credibility models. Brief ratio analysis of a similar company is also done and compared with the analysis of PARAPETROL a.s. In the conclusion of the thesis, there is a summary of the analysis results and some suggestions for their use in the selected company.
