Abstract

This thesis focuses on a proposal of laboratory system for monitoring occurrence of surface defects. In the first chapter there is a characteristic of defects in continuous steel casting. Furthermore, the first chapter describes a market research of diagnostic devices for surface defects identification. The following chapter focuses on connection of a laser measurements sensor and a data deposit method description of a computational tool Matlab with the assistance of Data Acquisition Toolbox and a Measuring Card NI PCI – 6221 (37 – pin) Laser measurement sensor is tested in the final part of this thesis, where surfaces of various materials are measured.
