Dostavba bloku v centru Brna s knihovnou 21. století

Abstract

The final thesis named ‚The completion of the block in the Brno city center with a library of the 21. century‘ is based on the project by Architectural studio III with a goal to design the mass of buildings and the public space. The architectural study of a library is the main goal of the final project – the public library of regional importance. The aim of the project was to design a library friendly for both visitors and employees. The open inner space is predominant – a quiet study room which is surrounded by books in individual library departments. The communication zone ensures vertical conection of all floors as well as the connection in horizontal perspective- the connection of visitors with employees by borrowing facilities, PC rooms and an enclosed study room. The library has five separated modes of operation and corresponding facilities– the large and quiet study room, the free choice of all departments, the part reserved for staff, the comunication zone and the funds warehouse.
