Abstract

In this Work, I focused on the system of training and staff development. The aim was to analyze and evaluate the educational system used for the development of employees in the company Haberkorn Ulmer Ltd. (further reffered to as the ‚Company‘). I focused on the system of training and development in the Company as a whole. The analysis was conducted by questionnaires and interviews. I used questionnaires as a primary tool to gain information from employees. Interview method was used with the Director of the Company. After the survey, I found that employees receive only trainings that are absolutely necessary for them to perform their jobs. The trainings are mostly conducted by external lecturers. The company employees are satisfied with this system and have no complaints. The Company has no written strategy for employee education and development. There is neither short nor long term planning of educational activities in place. Therefore, on the basis of my findings, it was suggested that the Company creates a clear strategic planning system for staff training. It was also proposed that the company develops a system of reviews of educational trainings and job descriptions that might point out to educational activities further needed to make the staff performance more effective. Furthmore, on the basis of the employees‘ requests, I would recommend to the Company to enable its employees to take language courses.
