Vodní díla zlatohroského rudního revíru

Abstract

My diploma thesis deals with geological and geomorphological position of microregion Zlatohorsko and its mining history from beginning up to the present. The particular emphasis is put on cultural, technical and natural sights. I describe these categories of sights in the chapter called Interesting localities to visit. The main aims of my thesis are water dams of Zlatohorsko microregion, including descriptions of waterways and their use. When studying the issues, I found out that local brooks have been used from time immemorial and they serve for inhabitants of Zlaté Hory also nowadays. The most important brooks are Zlaty potok, Olesnice and Cerna Opava. These streams were necessary for mines, sawmills and mill houses.
