Abstract
This thesis is about a mechanical analysis of power lines with special attention to the load of electricity pylons using the sag of the cables. An algorithm was created for typical cases in Microsoft Excel 2007 with application guide. The algorithm was verified by solved examples and by a numerical model designed in Scia Engineer 16.1.
