Abstract

This diploma thesis deals with the analysis of data from dust particle monitoring in village Horní Suchá. The area of Silesia and Moravia, where the village is located, lies on both sides of the Czech-Polish border and is one of the areas with the most polluted air in Europe. Above-limit concentrations of dust particles cause negative effects on the environment and human health. The first part describes the pollutants and their impacts on the environment, as well as aspects that affect air pollution in the area of interest. It also describes all the methods that have been used to analyze data from special dust particle monitoring, including measurement methods and measuring instruments. In the second part there are results of statistical analyses, data processing in RStudio, map plots of backward trajectories and relative pollution rates from Polish and Czech direction and also results from neutron activation analysis.
