Abstract

The diploma thesis deals with the legal regulation of solving the bankruptcy of debtors, the development of the Insolvency Act and the amendment of the Insolvency Act effective from 1 June 2019. It describes ways of solving bankruptcy of individuals, obligations of insolvency administrator and obligations of debtors in insolvency proceedings. It also deals with the economic consequences of debt discharge, the fulfillment and exemption of the debtor from remaining liabilities. The practical part describes the analysis of selected sample of debtors, especially the financial situation of debtors. In conclusion, the economic consequences of debt relief of individuals in the present and the economic consequences of debt relief of individuals following the amendment to the Insolvency Act are compared.
