Abstract
The aim of this bachelor thesis was to evaluate the financial health of the company SmVaK Ostrava a.s. by means of the financial analysis within the period 2008-2012. This thesis comprises two main parts; theoretical part and practical part. The theoretical part includes materials for the application part, and the practical part provides the analysis carried out by means of the vertical and horizontal analysis, the analysis of the financial ratio indicators, credibility and bankruptcy models. The company SmVaK a.s. has also been compared with the company OVAK a.s. which represents its competitor in the field. For this purpose, the benchmarking method has been selected.
