Abstract

The content of this Bachelor thesis is an evaluate the positives and negatives of pumped storage. The introductory part contains partition of hydroelectric power. Another capter is directed on the history of water power in the world and in our country. The third part describes the water engines, their development and types of water turbines. There is descriebed history of pumped storage, their partition and function. There are also decribed three major pumping power station in Czech republic and their impact on the environment. Remediation work made to on the upper reservoir of Dlouhé Stráně. From foreign are listed german power station Goldistahl and planned power station Linth in Switzerland. Use of the waves in the project Searaser. In the last section describes the visits and hiking. Overall evaluation of positives and negatives is contens of concluded.
