Static design of composite steel and concrete building structure

Abstract

ANOTATION Bc. ACAR, Harun Anil. Static Design of Composite Steel and Concrete Building Structure. Ostrava 2020. Master thesis. VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava. 113 p. Supervisor Ing. Miroslav Rosmanit, Ph.D. The diploma thesis is dealing with the static design of composite steel and concrete building structure. It focuses mainly on the determination of action loads acting on a structure and the calculation of the ultimate limit state and the serviceability limit state of structural elements for an office building. Steel-concrete composite beams, steel columns, simple connections between the secondary and main beam, and steel bracing systems are designed in accordance with Eurocodes. The steel I-Beam and concrete slab are assembled by shear connectors. This procedure enables us to have a composite bonding between the steel and concrete. This study also contains descriptions of the basis of composite structures and some types of joints in a structure. The final results achieved from hand calculations are compared with the results obtained from the software and their accuracy is confirmed.
