Náměstí s veřejnou funkcí v Brně s konverzí brownfieldu (tzv. Malá Amerika)

Abstract

This study deals with the design of the square under Petrov, new construction, and conversion. The first object is a new town hall for the Brno-střed district. The second object is a building known as Malá Amerika, which used to serve for distributing goods from the port in Hamburg. The goal of the conversion of this building was to find a solution that would not only be cultural, as dictated by the zoning plan, but also economically sustainable. The proposed solution is to create a marketplace complemented by outdoor sales booths and a micro-hotel on the remaining floors. The original viaduct in the Malá Amerika area would be revealed after the railway station is relocated and would serve as an entrance to commercial spaces from the park side.
