Abstract
The aim of the bachelor‘s thesis is to evaluate the legal position and content of the activities of the Czech National Bank as the central bank of the Czech Republic in the field of regulation and supervision. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first part contains a theoretical basis of central banking. The second part describes in detail a long-term concept of the Czech National Bank supervision within the framework of supervisory activities. The third chapter evaluates the activities of banks based on compliance with the CNB's regulatory requirements. In particular, it observes the capital adequacy of selected banks and compliance with the set limits for bank countercyclical capital buffer. The conclusion is that the CNB fulfills the function of the highest state authority in the financial market: it ensures the proper functioning of the market and prevents its instability. In the period under review, the CNB implements an effective policy, thereby maintaining the eligibility and transparency of financial entities.
