Abstract

All rivers contain sediments: a river, in effect, can be considered a body of flowing sediments as much as one of flowing water. When a river flows through a dam, a part of the sediments it contains sink to the bottom of the reservoir. This thesis deals with a water erosion at Luhačovice Dam catchment and also of reservoir sedimentation which consists of watershed sediment production. Dynamic erosion model SWAT and hydrodynamic model HEC-RAS were used to simulate sediment transport regime. Czech Chamber of Authorized Engineers nad Technics Method was used to estimate sediment amount in the dam. This method consists of three steps: 1) quantitation of sediment yield from all resources via RUSLE 2) determination of sediment delivery ratio, and 3) quantitation of sediment settlement via Brune curves. These method results and SWAT nad HEC-RAS results were confronted and interpreted.
