Abstract
This bachelor thesis deals with comparison of structural and mechanical properties of forgings from tool steel. The theoretical part covers the classification of tool steels. There are also described the basic properties of the precipitates formed in the tool steel and finally the forging and heat treatment performed on these materials. Evaluation of the experimental tool steel samples was performed with use of a microstructural analysis, tensile test and Vickers hardness test. Obtained results showed that forging ratio did not have a major influence on the strength and plastic properties of studied steel.
