Abstract
This diploma thesis deals with the issue of lead in the industrial environment. It also deals with the use of lead in various applications and in the metalworking industry, especially for drawing wire through a lead bath, when lead-containing waste is created due to the periodic changes of backfill materials. The thesis focuses on legislation, lead leaks and transfers from industrial enterprises and its impact on the environment, lead recycling and individual recycling processes. The experimental part of the work is focused on the analysis of waste originating from the covering layers of lead baths used for heat treatment of wires. The work also deals with the pyrometallurgical processing of these wastes with regard to the usability of the lead contained in the wastes. The results of the work provide information on the usability of lead from waste directly from processing processes, with the aim of promoting a circular economy and reducing the impact of lead use on the environment through proper processing.
