Abstract
This thesis examines the applicability of multi-criteria decision-making methods in the assessment of critical infrastructure. The thesis defines the concept of critical infrastructure, analyzes its systemic nature, and discusses approaches to its assessment. Particular attention is paid to index-based and multi-criteria methods, their principles, classification, and conditions of application. Based on a review of the professional literature, selected methods suitable for evaluating critical infrastructure elements are identified and compared in terms of their properties, input data requirements, and interpretability of results. The thesis includes a case study in which the selected methods are implemented in the RStudio environment. A specific critical infrastructure system is evaluated based on predefined criteria. The results of the individual methods are compared, including an analysis of sensitivity to changes in input parameters. The aim of the thesis is to assess the suitability of the selected methods for decision support in the field of critical infrastructure protection and management.
