Abstract
Bachelors’s thesis describes preparation of N-doped photocatalytic system kaolinite/TiO2, which was prepared via thermal treatment of the mechanically homogenized mixture of composite kaolinite/TiO2 and urea. The mixture was calcinated at temperatures 300, 400, 500 and 600°C and prepared samples were characterized using infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X ray diffraction analysis (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive X ray spectroscopy (EDX). Photoactivity of prepared nitrogen composite was compared with pure composite kaolinite/TiO2. Experiment is based on photocatalytic degradation of organic dye acid orange 7 in a liquid phase under irradiation with visible light. Decrease in dye concentration in a given time interval using composite containing nitrogen is greater than that of pure composite. Due to doping of nitrogen in the structure TiO2 nitrogen doped catalyst shows photocatalytic activity under visible light.
