Abstract

The bachelor work describes one of the most important turist area in the Slovak republic – the High Tatras. The bachelor work is considered the activity of the mountain glaciers. The mountain lakes – tarn are the most typical of the glacial erosion. The origine of mountain lakes dates back to the end of the glacial period when the glaciers were forming the Tatras valleys and pushed debris masses. After the starting of the atmosphere warming up, app. 10 000 years ago the glaciers are melted. The water are stored and the mountain lakes – tarn are originated. The mountain lakes – tarn are, for its beauty, titles the pearls of the Tatras. On the territory of the High Tatras are finded more than 80 lakes of the glacial origin.
