This diploma thesis deals with the evaluation of crime in the Ostrava region using spatial analysis. For the evaluation are used unique data from the Czech Police Presidium, which at this level of detail so far has never been evaluated geographically. The introductory part deals with the definition of basic terms relating to crime and theoretical assumptions of spatial assessments of crime. Insight is also on the history and aspects of crime in Ostrava. Initial view on current situation in the Ostrava region of assessing the status, intensity, and crime patterns in different service districts of Czech police in the time slices years 2003, 2005, 2007 and 2009. The essence of the work lies in the processing of spatial analysis evaluating occurrences of selected types of crime in the city of Ostrava in 2009. The systematic processing of data obtained from police in an MS Access 2007 database was designed data model and methodology for location. The right to make location the frequency of individual acts is given great importance, since it is a very sensitive and crucial step before the implementation of spatial analysis. Analyses using a particular kernel estimation and detection of anomalous points are made in a specialized statistical program CrimeStat. In conclusion, an evaluation of the results and discuss the key benefits of the work.
