Abstract

This thesis deals with problems of an analysis of alternative and renewable energy sources of electric power for power supply of measurement units. Biomass and solar power belong between alternative and renewable energy sources. The other renewable sources of energy there are wind and water energy, thermoelectric phenomenas, geothermal phenomenas or the energy, which we can gain from vibration of human body etc. Thermoelectric phenomena are the best for their application on mine dumps with thermal processes, which are represented by thermoelectric generators allowing the direct production of electric energy due to temperature differences. The other of their advantage is possibility to hide before the public due to theft and vandalism. A number of experiments were performed to analyse properties of several types of thermoelectric generators when using many kinds of heating and cooling. As a result of the experiment a simulation of real conditions on mine dumps and measurement of individual temperature and voltage in time were carried out. A power system is designed for verification of functionality. If the difference of temperature on module is sufficient, the system is functional and it can be used.
