Dopad ekologických daní na ekonomický růst v evropských zemích

Abstract

This diploma thesis aims to clarify the relationship between environmental taxes and economic growth in European countries. It focuses on whether and how environmental taxation affects year-on-year changes in gross domestic product, and whether this relationship varies depending on the economic development, institutional quality, or demographic characteristics of individual states. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part focuses on the definition of environmental taxes, their functions and potential impacts on the economy, as well as a review of relevant empirical studies. In the practical part, a panel regression analysis is conducted based on data from European countries for the period 1995–2023.
