Abstract

At the outset of this work, I attempted to describe exactly what an open-cast quarry is while trying to grasp quarry systems and their parts in general. Then I carried out an analysis of quarry technology and processes for quarry mining. One of the most important factors in open-cast quarry mining is transport both inside and outside of the quarry. Due to the focus of my work, I have concentrated on transport using a conveyor belt and on its automated operation. Another aspect of my work deals with hardware and software tools that were important in the creation of a model conveyor belt transport system. I have also included proposed solutions for the model where algorithms for various conditions are described in order for the model to function properly. The final part of this work is a draught proposal for the model and its realization.
