Abstract

Ceramic materials excels due to their mechanical and physical properties. That´s why they find application in various technical branches. This bachelor thesis is about compaction methods of non-oxide ceramic Si3N4. First in this thesis is describe distrubution and characteristic properties of technical ceramics. Next is described ceramic material Si3N4 more in details. In the experimental part of thesis is the sample first grinded and polished. Then it is examined by scanning electron microscope together with energy dispersion analysis to determine the phase and chemical composition. The last step is annealed and subjected to Vickers hardness testing.
