Abstract

In this thesis are examined effects of air flow on wind power turbine and effective conversion of air flow into electricity. Theoretical part discusses basic principles of aerodynamics, general types of wind engines and problematic of the wind energy conversion by wind turbines. Practical part contains software solutions of issues discussed in theoretical part. In particular, original 3D model design of wind turbine by SolidWorks and simulation of air flow in designed turbine and analysis of flow effects in rotor area by ANSYS Workbench. Conclusion of thesis is focused on simulations result evaluation and on assessment of gained mechanical energy conversion into electrical energy via electrical generator.
