Abstract

The diploma thesis discusses the modulation transfer function (MTF) of scintigraphics imaging systems. The introduction briefly shows the function of gamma camera and the main components are described. Emphasis is given on the spatial resolution and quality of scintigraphics images. The mathematical derivation of the equations for the calculation of the MTF is given at the end of the theoretical part. The MTFs of several gamma cameras in FNO in various configurations are listed and compared. Also, there is shown a qualitative assessment of the imaging properties by measurements of Jaszczak phantom and the phantom of the thyroid gland. Influence of the septal penetration on the resulting image is also presented. There are validations of accuracy of computing methods of MTFs in the last part of thesis.
