Abstract

This thesis deals with the using thermography in medicine. First, there are described the physical properties of infrared radiation and the possibility of detection and scanning. The paper presents an overview of the infrared detectors and describes the basic characteristics of thermal imaging devices. It also deals with the methodology of thermal analysis for the assessment of temperature distribution on the surface of the human body and the possibility of pathological diagnosis based on the analysis of thermograms. In the practical part, the realized program is implemented in the graphical interface GUI in Matlab R2010b. The program converts obtained temperature values in the color spectrum and creates a thermal relief of the human body.
