Abstract
This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of low-emission hydrogen production, which represents a key and promising energy carrier for the future transformation of industry and transport. The first part of the thesis defines the basic physical and chemical properties of hydrogen and safety aspects. The next part is devoted to the principles of water electrolysis and the analysis of current electrolyser technologies, primarily alkaline, AEM, PEM, and high-temperature SOEC systems, including an assessment of their efficiency and future development. In addition to these production principles, alternative methods of hydrogen production are also described. The penultimate part focuses on the possibilities of hydrogen production in the Czech Republic, analyzing the current state and strategic goals of the Czech hydrogen economy and evaluating the potential and economic feasibility of low-emission hydrogen production. The final part of the thesis is dedicated to a specific technical design of a laboratory system for hydrogen production and storage. This design includes the specification of required components, the creation of a wiring diagram, and the preparation of an economic budget.
