Abstract
This bachelor’s thesis studies an influence of chemical modification on the properties and structure of low carbon wires. A part of the thesis is devoted to detailed chemical analysis using methods from the field of spectroscopy. The thesis also describes the technologies used for low carbon wire production. The studied samples are hot rolled wire rod, cold drawn wire and annealed wire, all coming from the same melt. The sample material can be characterized as interstitial free steel. Therefore, a substantial part of the thesis is devoted to describing these steels. The thesis also describes the annealing process of interstitial free steels. The analysis of mechanical properties on a tensometer as well as the analysis of microstructure using optical microscope was conducted for the purpose of this thesis.
