Abstract

The bachelor thesis deals with the role of the European Investment Bank in the institutional system of the European Union. EIB, the European Union's bank as a subsidiary body to carry out the policy of economic and social cohesion aims to contribute to the development of the EU internal market. Because the new programming period 2014 – 2020 financial instruments, whose manager is mostly EIB, take on greater importance, there is a presumption that the role of the EIB will continue to grow. The aim is to assess the impact of the European Investment Bank on the development of Member States of the European Union by examining the proportion of the financial resources of the EIB's gross domestic product, by observing the evolution of credit ceilings and evaluation of EIB activities in the Czech Republic, the project examples and the comparison with other countries.
