Abstract

Bachelor thesis deals with the operational issues and working of particular wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) in the town of Prostejov and its surroundings. In the first part of the thesis describes the process of wastewater treatment, the thesis defines basic types of wastewater and outlines the importance of fresh water for life on earth. Next chapter depicts basic applicable legislation of the European Union and the Czech Republic affecting the operation of wastewater treatment plants. Following chapter is devoted to the WWTP in Prostejov. It describes the specific process of mechanical and biological treatment of waste water, including technology WWTP Prostejov. The bachelor thesis conclusion is devoted to the products arising from the waste water treatment process.
