Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with the relationship between human capital and wages in the Trinec Region. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first part contains theoretical definition of human capital, including its measurement and possibilities of investment in human capital. It explains the terms wage, wage system and minimum wage together with wage differences. The second part describes the existing analyses of effects of certain factors of the human capital on the wage level. In the third part, my own research was conducted by means of questionnaire survey in the Trinec Region. In this part also methods of collecting primary data, structure of the questionnaire and sample selection are explained. Furthermore, the respondents' answers were evaluated and processed. It follows from the performed research that traits of character, practice, skills and education have the strongest influence on the amount of wages. The aim of this thesis was to confirm or refute the hypothesis of the influence of human capital on the wages. This hypothesis was confirmed by the research.
