Revitalizace kolonie Pokrok, Petřvald - objekt pro bydlení a penzion s restaurací

Abstract

This paper attempts to elaborate abandoned colony Pokrok. Although the development was originally suited for the local minors and the working labor, it still secures its cultural and historical heritage. The study explores the location and highlights both benefits and cons of such development. Some features of this original development still overstand. One of them is the landscape, which became so typical for this place. It provides a balance between the natural and the industrial background of this spot. Its suburbs position helped to highlight those characteristics, but also it was its location that particularly accelerated the movement of the original community. This was mainly due to the closure of the mines. While there were many new owners of some buildings, the colony as a complex decayed. It is the aim of this study to highlight the landscape and keep the principles of the system living in the place. This paper also elaborates on the influence of the pandemic situation on the living.
