Abstract

It is necessary to determine the position of the measuring probe for geomechanical and geological measurement in boreholes. For this reason, modern measuring probes include electronic part and/or device, which allows to record position of the probe and then to transfer data into measuring and recording unit. External autonomous orientation device is necessary to use for older probes or measuring instrumentations, which cannot be equipped with electronic part. This external device enables to record position of measuring probe and subsequently, after the end of experiment, to read recorded data from the internal memory. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to design device that would be able autonomously to measure the position of the measuring probes with sufficient precision and, subsequently, to transfer these values into a computer in digital form. Designed device must also have dimensions suitable for use in a borehole and it has to be waterproof. Prototype of this devise was developed in frame of this bachelor thesis.
