Abstract

The diploma thesis is focused on the continuous and spot measurements assessment of steel temperature in the tundish. The final quality of produced steel is affected by physicochemical factors, notably the melt temperature. The knowledge of the precise temperature in the tundish is important therefore to be able to control how casting speed up to the maximum level without product quality problems or freeze steel in the tundish. Temperature measuring methods are constantly being improved with the emphasis on speed, accuracy and simplicity in the steel production process. The aim of this thesis was to describe selected methods of continuous temperature measurements in tundish and compare them with spot temperature measurement method. In conclusion, there are results of the testing continuous temperature measurement in tundish processed and evaluated.
