Abstract

This bachelor thesis is concerned with utilization of fixed foam extinguishing systems within fire safety. The work is divided into three parts. The first, theoretical part contains a description of foam and its extinguishing effects. Then it includes a summary of foam concentrates that are usually used and a description of individual components of fixed foam extinguishing systems. The second part of the paper is concerned with general utilization and most common applications of fixed foam extinguishing systems. The final part comprises an outline of installations in a chosen territorial unit and a final summary of all the acquired information on the base of which the utilization of fixed foam extinguishing systems in the chosen territorial unit is assessed.
