Po stopách architektonických děl Dušana Jurkoviče

Abstract

In the submitted work an all-round summary of a life and work of a significant Slovak architect, ethnographer and furniture-maker Dušan Sámo Jurkovič is elaborated. The first part is dedicated to his life and a career. Consequently, a characteristic of his work, motives of inspiration and his way of thinking are described. Not only architect’s contribution to architecture, but also his contribution to the whole society is described. In the next part, particular architectures, which are located in the territory of the Czech Republic, are analyzed in detail. These are analyzed chronologically as they were built. The final part of this work aims at a possibility of making use of his significant architectures in the Czech Republic as parts of potential tourist paths.
