Abstract

This diploma thesis deals with the problems of groundwater remediation. In the theoretical part, the emphasis is placed on groundwater contamination, methods of remediation and technologies used. Decontamination technologies used in the Czech Republic followed by monitoring are described here. The subject of this diploma thesis is the area of the oil economy of the Sokolnice substation. The purpose of the remediation was to maintain the hydraulic barrier so as to prevent spreading of petroleum substances to the neighboring area. An intensification of remedial works was carried out during the realization of works mainly with the aim of pumping off the residual phase of petroleum substances on the groundwater surface. Based on the results, in-situ aerobic bioremediation of groundwater was evaluated as the most appropriate method.
