Abstract

During braking process the braking pad is heating on it´s surface. Amount of this temperature depending on kinetics energy which is transformed to the heating energy. Generally it can be reached 300-700°C and in critical situations up to 1000°C. There are large of number types of braking pads. Every manufacturer has his own methods of production and testing. Braking pad is formed from 10 to 30 different types of material. The main aim of this diploma is describing the changes of texture properties and composition of friction materials with temperature. This study is tied together with bachelor work also dealing with topic. The methods used in this work are dynamic vapour sorption (DVS), sorption and desorption curves measured on new apparatus of VŠB-TUO called SPZ (VS -Vapour Sorption without dynamic behaviour) and measuring texture parameters (specific surface area, distribution of size and volume of the pores).
