Abstract
This master thesis deals with electrochemical corrosion of buried structures and methods of protection against corrosion. In this thesis there is described a mechanism of electrochemical corrosion. This kind of corrosion of buried structures is mainly caused by the direct earth currents that can be of natural or artificial origin that are called stray currents. There is also described the origin of earth current fields and methods of protection against electrochemical corrosion, which is caused by the currents fields. Electrochemical corrosion by alternating stray currents is mentioned in passing. The practical part is devoted to the measurement of potential on selected buried constructions with cathodic protection.
