Abstract
The humidity is one of the most frequent causes for the building construction break-downs. It is because of the fact that many constructions were built without using a hydoisolation in its lower parts or because the hydroisolation does not function properly any longer. Nowadays, the objective is to eliminate redundant humidity in the constructions because some of their qualities change due to this phenomenon.
In this work, there can be found basic information about the humidity impact,
its transportation within the construction, its effect on the porous material mechanical and physical properties, and about the methods used for measuring the content of the water in the material. As these methods are many, the practical part of the final project focuses on the comparison of selected methods applied to the most frequent building materials. Not only were taken into account methods’ particularities, but also their application IN SITU.
