Abstract

The aim of this work is to introduce readers with a history and present of a coffee houses of Ostrava. Preliminary we introduce with origins of coffee houses in the World and also with history of coffee. Another chapter is about history of caffee houses in Ostrava. Are mapped origins of coffee, break of 19. and 20. century, period of the First republic, interwar period and also situation after second world war and about inhibition of coffee houses in Ostrava. Included is specification of historically most considerable coffee houses with period photos. Finish of the work is devoted to present coffee houses and it is drawn like an itinerary. Finish itinerary is currently processed according to own experiences and can be instrumental for possible visitors of Ostrava.
